Instructions
for servicing
Servicing an AQUANTIS comes down to two operations: replacing the plates as they are consumed and removing scale. There are no cartridges, membranes or post-filters in the design — nothing to swap on a calendar.
Instructions by model
The servicing routine below applies to the model marked in the card. The appliances differ in how the electrode block is assembled, so each has instructions of its own.

The base model: seven plates of seven metals, with current controlled independently on every channel.
- 7 plates
- 7 metals
- No cartridges or membranes
What servicing consists of
Both operations are done in place and require neither opening up the housing nor calling out a technician.

- 01
Replacing the plates as they are consumed
The plates give up metal to the water — that is how the device works, not how it wears out. The set is replaced as it is consumed: by the state of the plates, not by the calendar. The inert electrodes in other appliances are not consumed simply because they give up nothing.
- 02
Quick access to the plates, and cleaning
The plate block opens without taking the housing apart: inspecting the set, replacing it and clearing scale takes minutes. Scale is a normal consequence of working with mineralised water, and it is cleared right where the plates sit.
No consumables in the usual sense
Three items that make up a recurring expense in other solutions are absent from AQUANTIS as a class.
Cartridges
In reverse-osmosis systems they are changed four times a year. Here there are none — the design has no filter modules.
Membranes
The device does not split the water into streams or screen out dissolved substances, so it has no need of a membrane assembly.
Pre-filtration
The device connects straight to the mains supply. No filter is needed ahead of it — that is the whole point of running on local water.
What has to be done by hand in other solutions
| Technology | Manual servicing | Consumables |
|---|---|---|
| Reverse osmosis | Module replacement | Cartridges every 3 months |
| Alkaline ioniser | Flushing | Yes |
| Hydrogen generator | Rinsing the flask | No |
| Multi-plate | Draining sediment, cleaning electrodes | Plate replacement, flushes |
| AQUANTIS | Plate replacement, scale removal | Not required |
A comparison by technology type. Servicing routines for specific models vary between manufacturers.
What people ask
- How long do the plates last?
- The plates are consumed — that is the physics of the process, not a defect. It is precisely because they give up metal to the water that the device works at all. The set is replaced as it is consumed, not on a calendar term.
- Do I need a filter ahead of the device?
- No. The device connects straight to the mains supply and needs no pre-filtration. That is the point: you use the local water of your own place rather than water brought in.
- Where does the scale come from?
- It is a normal consequence of working with mineralised water. Scale is cleared through the same access to the plate block that is used to replace the plates — no separate procedure is needed.
- Can I service the device myself?
- Yes. Both operations are done without taking the housing apart and need no tool to open the device. The procedure is supplied with the appliance.
